Yesterday, it didn’t start snowing until 3:30 p.m. We spent all day waiting for the promise of snow, to just see lots of rain. The boys were really starting to spin their wheels (J was yelling, snow! snow!), and we had colored, played play-doh, played trains, watched Sesame Street, and so on and so on. I knew we needed something else to do, so I came up with a quick craft that is based on this garland.
I just traced a bunch of small hearts of different textiles (I used cardstock, felt, and laminated) from a cut-out heart I already had and then A lined them up in a pattern and I punched a hole in each and then strung a ribbon through. He took awhile creating the pattern:
He did a worksheet last night that discussed AB patterns, ABB patterns, and ABC patterns. This was a great opportunity to continue our discussion creating those patterns, with all the same color, but different textiles. See if you can pick out the patterns A made.

Happy crafting! And happy third snow day if you are staying home again, like we are! Here’s hoping we can actually go out and enjoy it!
