I’m going to start off by saying that ‘Ohana came highly recommended for a table service selection and it did not disappoint. This was one of the best meals I’ve had at Disney World and it was the one that every member of my family already put on the list to go back to when we visit again. B asked if we could eat there multiple nights! So here is a little more about our experience…
First, we went to ‘Ohana by boat from the Magic Kingdom and rode the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom when we were done. The boat ride gives you a nice view of the property:
We had a 6:40 reservation, but we arrived about 5:30. I had been told to head towards reservations about 90 minutes in advance and since it had been so long since we had been to Disney I really couldn’t remember how long it was going to take to get places. Hence, for most of the week we arrived pretty early to most of the dinner reservations. However, we never waited more than twenty minutes for any reservation once we arrived.
As you are seated at ‘Ohana you get wonderful pineapple-coconut bread:
The meal is served family style, and you get a salad, lo mein, dumplings, chicken wings, meat, chicken, and shrimp. Needless to say, it’s a lot of food.
And depending on where you sit, you can look out over the Magic Kingdom, and you can also watch them cooking on the grill, which the boys really enjoyed:
And for dessert you get a bread pudding with ice cream, caramel sauce, and you are going to eat all of it even if you are full: The meal was terrific, but the service was also impeccable. J was SUPER grumpy because he had no nap and had been at the park all day, and our server brought him chicken nuggets and a bowl of ice cream with sprinkles and pretty much made his day. And ours because he stopped throwing a fit. HA!
