I didn’t go big on decorations for A’s birthday this year. Since this was the first year A really decided on his party theme (and it was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), I used basic themed party supplies as my guide and then added some extras.
We had it at my sister’s clubhouse in her neighborhood. It was a gorgeous day and they have a big outdoor playground, so I knew that we could do two activities, presents, cupcakes, and then let them go play outside.

B and I drew and colored a large Michelangelo face, and when the kids first got there we had them decorate paper pizza slices. Then we played pin the pizza on the Michelangelo.
My favorite idea was the foot soldier race, and shredder pot.
I saw the decor idea for the paint for the pot on Pinterest. I used a large plastic pot and found foam throwing stars (I know, right?) at Target. We set up the balloons like ski gates, so they ran through each, and then tossed them in the pot, and yelled “Turtle Power!”
