Halloween decor favorites

Oh October. One of my favorite months of the year, because it has A’s birthday, my Mom’s birthday, and Halloween. As the boys have gotten older we have added a few more spooky elements, but it’s still mainly cutesy items because I don’t care to have terrifying stuff in my house. One of my favorite decor items are these ceramic ghosts:

And oh does the pumpkin dolce candle smell amazing. This candle and the iced coffee candle I featured in my Fall decor post are my two favorites right now. I always buy it locally at Sweet Pineapple.

On our mantel I added just a few Halloween touches, including a banner, fabric spider lights and ribbon wrapped around the candles.

Our foyer table is the spot for our haunted house and characters. Target has these each year in different styles:

And my Studio McGee table is filled with little Halloween touches:

And fabric spiders are my favorite, I put one on each chandelier:

And inside metal pumpkins:

And we’ve got our skulls and vultures keeping watch on the kitchen table:

And finally, this guy apparently has become the house mascot and I keep finding him dressed up everywhere:

Halloween Decor

It was 104 here yesterday. 104. Despite that, it’s October and we are embracing all things Fall and Halloween even if it won’t be here until December. Here is a little tour of all our Halloween and fall decorations!

My main decoration areas are always our fireplace and kitchen hutch, where most of our decorations really shine:

The bats are automated, but we rarely have them turned on because they fall down in the middle of the night and scare us half to death.

My favorite add to our hutch this year was the matte navy latte bowls:

And the vultures are everybody’s favorite. They’re our little Halloween house mascots.

I also spruced up the iron tier stand in the corner:

The pumpkin canvas is one of my favorite purchases from one of our local shops:

And the planter I wanted from Target sold out, so I made my own:

The boys love the light up characters, like this little alien who looks stunned he ended up in the corner:

And I redid our coffee/tea area on our kitchen counter:

Our Halloween Nespresso/tea mugs are from Target, and I have Nespresso pods, two Piper and Leaf tea canisters (birthday cake and golden hour are some of my favorites), and a cream cafe with Vital Proteins collagen packets.

I also love putting up different pictures from our Disney Halloween trips:

This little ghost has also been a lot of fun:

And this candle is my favorite of the Fall season. I love it so much I’ve got to go back and get another!

And finally, this little tea towel is glamming up my new oven:

Now it’s time to cuddle up in the air conditioning, and dream of nights where it isn’t 80 degrees for the low temperature. Ha!

A little fall…a little Halloween…

Fall and Halloween DecorWe don’t do a lot of Halloween decorations, but of what we do have I require that they be friendly or goofy. I’m not interested in having a lot of ghoulish skeletons hanging about. We add just a few decorations each year and this year we added a silly monster, little spiders garland, and a spooky sign. A new orange throw and autumn wreath completed our fall decor. The monster was a hit with the boys…it is too hilarious not to have hanging about the fireplace!

**All of the items above are from Target…I’m not endorsed by Target, I just don’t have time to shop other places…hahaha!”
