Lions and the Zoo

After we got my crazy pneumonia vaccine reaction under control (has anyone had a crazy reaction that vaccine before??? It was unreal!), we took our first trip into D.C. with Super A. We went to the Zoo because Super A wanted to see THE LIONS. And it was awesome. Mainly because Super A got to hear the lions ROAR. Which was really loud and pretty incredible. We saw many other animals on our trip to the zoo, but really just the lions made Super A’s day. It was a little cold and drizzly that day, but Super A didn’t seem to mind.

To get to the zoo we had to go to Union Station and take the metro. Which Super A thought was really cool. Pretty much lions, trains, and airplanes top Super A’s list of cool right now.

Waiting at Union Station

Picture with Nana and Grandpa. Super A doesn’t like waiting. As you can see here.

Waiting for the metro. Did I mention Super A doesn’t like waiting?

The Zoo entrance. One of the wonderful things about D.C. is many of the museums and the zoo are free.Which means it doesn’t matter if you have a two year old who really only wants to see the lions!

Lunch. French Fries. Super A doesn’t have time to smile without one.

Watching the lions. Hearing them roar. I have to interject and say I don’t believe they were actually “roaring” (that’s apparently outrageously loud) but rather talking amongst each other loudly. Kind of like my family. HA!

The male lion. He did most of the talking.

The lioness and the cubs. The zoo has a bunch of cubs right now and they kept pestering the male lion which was pretty hilarious.
