We live in an area with mountains and valleys. In the valley areas you can see for miles, in the mountain area the trees and their leaves hang so tight together that it almost shuts out the piercing June sun. We traipsed over flat rocks stacked together, and through sandy clearings filled with sticks. The boys plugged along with their little bags of goldfish, and we got in a good fifty minutes of walking before they were eager to move on to the next place:
In a large clearing there is a picnic area with a huge play-set. Plenty of slides, steering wheels, swings, and see-saws. It wasn’t particularly crowded (especially for a Saturday), so the boys enjoyed the run of the place. I know I say this often, but I am not an outdoorsy type person, however I can confidently say I’ve logged more daylight hours outside this summer than in. Which is why I was happy to take a bit to girl it up, while watching the older kids that afternoon:
My sister has a Julep subscription right now, so I have been reaping the benefits of borrowing her nail polishes. I tried out their Mariska nail polish with the Julep Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat and my own Essie No Chips Ahead top coat. The base coat mattes your nail color, which really made the orange color of the nail polish calm down. I have loved it and have no chips on day 2 of wearing it. Which doesn’t seem like much, but I’m super hard on my nails. And then I read some of my book while it dried and enjoyed being inside for a good hour and a half. Happy Monday!
