I knew I was pressing my luck having a USB port for over eight years with minimal back up. However, sometimes you don’t believe that these things can happen. And then BOOM. As I went to access my files for lesson plans the other day, nothing loaded. Then one file loaded, one folder loaded, and that was pretty much it. My other 600 files had vanished into cyber air.
Thankfully, I have a computer savvy husband, who after about thirty minutes of data magic and some googling, was able to access my files. All I have to do is figure out if each file is a PDF, Power Point, or Word Document and then transfer it over to a hard drive and my shiny new USB port. I have learned my lesson of backing up files. On another humorous point, my original USB drive cost me around 15 dollars and was 128 mb. I just bought a new USB drive that cost me 13 dollars and was 8 GB. HA! I should have sufficient room to save everything! 🙂
Oh and if you too make this mistake, let me know. I can point you in the right direction of how to possibly save your files 🙂
