Friday Favorites

Friday FavoritesA boy, a box, and markers. Sounds like a plan.

J got his first real haircut this week. Where A had a whole bunch of pictures from his first haircut, I Instagrammed two (a before and after). J does NOT like having his hair messed with, so I was focused on him not throwing a huge fit. It is so much better now, but still gets incredibly tangled, so I’m going to have to trim it in between cuts. I found this great tutorial on cutting kids’ hair that I will definitely be looking at for guidance, and it repeats a lot of what my stylist was telling me for pointers on cutting hair.

I can honestly say, I rarely meet an H&M jacket I don’t love. This cargo jacket is now on my list for Spring.

A list challenge of how many of these great literary works you have read. My number is 35. Yikes! Guess I need to get reading.

I made this broccoli rice casserole for a side on our Wednesday dinner. The boys didn’t take to it so well, but B and I loved it!

Fifteen dinners you can make in 30 minutes. Always nice to have some new options!

For some reason this mountain home reminds me of the rental house we lived in when we had moved back to California in the eighties. I’m pretty sure my memory of it is fairly inaccurate considering I was 5. But then if I had A’s memory I would remember everything down to a perfect detail from age 1. HA!

This yoga top is something that is right up my alley. To run errands in.

Love this piece and tutorial on getting yourself in the camera shot. I’m going to try some of the ideas coming up!

If you know me well, you know how much I love cherry blossoms. Here are some beautiful pictures of them.

This foodie book is on my list to read, and then send over to my Mom to read.

As is this inspiring book for re-inventing and re-imaging dinner.

I spent fifteen minutes this morning reading this article about the overprotected child, and the re-construction of playgrounds. I HIGHLY recommend reading it. It was very insightful.

I’m declaring this nail polish combined with this top coat the duo with the most staying power. I put on the polish, waited ten minutes and then did the top coat and let it sit while we watched Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. It lasted A WEEK with no chips. That’s huge for someone who has to use their nails to separate Lego’s on a daily basis. Seriously.

Have a great weekend!
