When we started planning our Disney trip we did some initial budgeting and pricing and decided that the dining plan would be a good choice for our trip. One of my favorite things about going to Disney is the table service restaurants and with the character dining we were going to do, we decided it would be a good budget choice. This is a little bit more about the snack portion of the plan, which by far was the trickiest for us to keep up with…
For our dining plan we had one snack per person per day. The dining plan starts on your arrival day, so that made for 24 snacks. At first we were fairly stingy with the snacks because we were worried we would run out, but by the end of the week we had so many stacked up we were trying to use them on everything. I would say the main thing we used them on was water and lemonade, however we did get some tasty treats as well:
Like frozen lemonade:
Mickey Ice Cream Bars:
Beignets from our hotel:
And a huge Mickey Pretzel:
Other items that I would recommend using for snacks is the muffins and fruit from your hotel. We got these several of the mornings as breakfast items and you aren’t using a quick service, but still get a good breakfast. We mainly kept up with the snacks through our receipts (whenever you purchase something the receipt tells you how many snacks you have left), so we always kept the last receipt handy. For us, I think the dining plan was definitely a good choice, but you do have to plan ahead to make sure everything lines up!
