Some gorgeous new basil…. So much easier when you buy the plant instead of trying to revive a plant! Tiny yellow flowers waiting to become pah-toe-toes (or tomatoes as you might call them.) And the cabbage might become a cabbage patch after all!

I really think I’m going to turn this in to a weekly post, but I can never guarantee my ability to stick with the idea! Look I have herbs! They are sprouting! I’m not sure what’s going on with the middle pot. I prefer to think the seeds are late bloomers. And our tomato plant [...]

I’m not sure if holding on to the basil is a good thing. I could just run up to the store and buy a pretty new basil plant, but I’m determined to try to reinvigorate this one.

This time of year, a glorious day can quickly become a turbulent storm, so we try to take advantage of every great warm day when we can. Yesterday we…. Went to “the gym”, had lunch with Papa, took a walk, checked the garden…. And our shovel… (Yup still looks good) Cooked hamburgers on the grill [...]

I especially laughed at the tiny rain gauge sitting in [...]

Despite my sense of impending doom, we are trying gardening again this Spring. After our results of last Spring/Summer being well disappointing (five cherry tomatoes. One rotten pepper. An ambush of mint.) we are going to clean out and try again this year. Right now our vegetable bed is a series of sticks and rotten [...]

We have gone from seeds to sprouts and now to full grown plants in our raised vegetable bed. Our cucumbers are not doing too well but we have big tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, parsley, basil, flat leaf parsley, dill, thyme, mint and jalapenos. Check out the pictures and ignore the nasty grass near [...]

Last week we planted vegetable seeds in our raised vegetable garden and have waited for the little seeds to grow into seedlings. I went out to check the garden today and we have little sprouts! The cucumber, zucchini, jalapenos and tomatoes have sprouted. As I mentioned in the previous post I planted way too many [...]
