Can this garden be saved?

One of my husband’s work friends told him that the edible part of the cabbage will be in the center when all the leaves fold in. I’m not seeing it. I’m still wondering if a cabbage patch kid will appear eventually.
bahahaha! now when your cabbage patch births a kid, those are the pictures i want to see!
